NVIDIA GeForce 304.79 Beta Drivers for Windows 8, Win7/Vista Download Available
Nvidia takes advantage for the release of GeForce 304.79 beta drivers to unify its developments, initially allocated to the OS dedicated to Windows 8.
We note that the new GeForce 304.79 beta drivers are the first to be unified for Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 when we had doubts, so far on Nvidia draft, for not to unify the various WDDM 1.0 drivers (Vista), WDDM 1.1 (Windows 7) and WDDM 1.2 (Windows 8). This is a very good thing because it makes things easier for the user and the development cycle of drivers for Windows 8 will now be the same as those for Vista / Windows 7.
Besides unification, these drivers provide support for the Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TXAA), which is a new antialiasing method that was presented by the California firm at the launch of GeForce GTX 680 (Kepler). According to Nvidia, the TXAA offers a quality level equivalent to the method MSAA or better in some cases, but with a much lower impact on performance. The RPG game - The Secret World, is the first title to use the TXAA with GeForce 600 but the installation of a future patch will be needed in order to enjoy it.
Nvidia also announced the addition of several additional SLI profiles in these 304.79 drivers for the games below:
- End of Nations
- Nexuiz
- The Secret World
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
- Tornado Force
- Tribes: Ascend
Finally, many bugs in the 304.48 beta drivers were corrected in games including Civilization V (GeForce 400/500), Aion, World of Warcraft, Eve Online (cursor bug), Deus Ex: Human Revolution (DX11), etc. The drivers 304.79 beta can be downloaded directly from the manufacturer's website over here.
