Nokia announces series of new applications for Lumia

Taking advantage of the presentation of Windows Phone 8, Nokia announced recently a series of new applications and updates for Windows Phone Lumia.

There will be a first application called "Play To" that will share music, videos and photos via DLNA connection with other compatible devices. Another utility "Nokia Counter" will help users monitor their consumption of data and voice. Moreover, applications Nokia Drive, Nokia Transportation and photo enforcement will be eligible for an upgrade.

Nokia for Transport, a new function will be placed on the startup screen to quickly view the public transport which will be available nearby. Regarding Nokia Drive, the application can draw up a profile for the most frequent routes to deliver the best possible route.

The photo application will finally receive a burst mode, a timer and a panorama mode. An option called "intelligent group photo" will take several shots of a group and select each of them the best facial expression, to avoid certain scenes or people close to their eyes, open mouth, or watching elsewhere.

These new applications and updates will begin running from next week.

It was also announced that Finland is working with PayPal to launch an application to enable secure payment capabilities on Lumia. Similarly, an application is being developed by Time Magazine in conjunction with Newsweek for Windows Phone. So users of Lumia have to watch over for the coming months to fill their phone with unique application.
