Linaro Android is twice as fast ICE Cream Sandwich

A new unofficial version of the Android system has recently been published on the Internet. The current version of Android 4.0 is already faster than its previous version. How about having a phone still twice as fast? In any case, the latest demonstration of Linaro, a joint project of ARM, IBM, Texas Instruments, Samsung, Freescale and ST-Ericsson, comes into picture.

According to a post published on the developers site odroid.com, "Linaro is a project to optimize Android on an ARM architecture." Improvements can be seen on the video here which shows Bernhard Rosenkranzer, who works at Linaro. On the left you can see an Android ROM on a platform similar to a Motorola Razr. On the right, the same platform, but with an optimized version of Linaro Android. Result: Linaro displays 60 frames per second while Android 4.0.4 AOSP (Android Open Source Project) tops out at 30 frames per second on the test software 0xbench.

The brainchild of Linaro was sent to the team CyanogenMod for the improvements that are included in a future version of the system for smartphones and tablets.

CyanogenMod already is one of the most famous ROMs modifier and by using their codes it can be possible to see a further improved version in the performance. Linaro team did a great job of optimizing Android 4.0 for the ARM and let us hope that Google will pay attention to this project.
