Google Chrome for Windows 8 in Metro Style released for download

Google released a first version of its Chrome browser to the Windows 8 Metro interface.

By last weekend the engineer Carlos Pizano explained, on the official blog of the Chromium project, a preliminary version of Chrome browser will soon be deployed via the distribution channel for developers. Here it is now available for download. Note that after installation it will ask you to set Chrome as default browser.

The application presents a user interface with buttons that is a little wider for better ergonomics on multi-screens. The main features of Chrome are transposed, namely, the support for extensions or synchronization. Note that this version comes with Flash player support. For now a page being viewed on Metro can be automatically transferred to the standard Windows desktop. Many Metro interface elements have also not yet been adopted by Google. Thus, for example the right click context menu is not prepared in the form of a ribbon footer but remains relatively conventional.

I also heard that Mozilla is developing Firefox browser for Windows 8, and is likely to launch in the upcoming days with its new product. But what about Opera and other browsers, are they also planning to release their browser version for Windows 8? Since microsoft is limiting third party browsers, it will be hard to see what all can be used.
