Sony Announces Xperia acro S Waterproof Mobile Phone

After announcing the commercialization of the smartphone Xperia Ion for the next year, Sony will launch a new model called Xperia acro S. Succeeding the smartphone Xperia S, this phone includes most of the technical features and applications, but innovates by its resistance to water and dust, like the Xperia active (IP55/57 standard). In design terms, the acro S is slightly thick (1.19 cm) or a 1.3 mm longer than its predecessor. It gains, however, 2 mm in height in the absence of the translucent ring that is characterized by the Xperia S.

Featuring a double core Qualcomm processor at 1.5 GHz, a 4.3 inch HD display, a photo sensor of 12 megapixels and 16 GB of internal memory, acro S functions already with Ice Cream sandwich pre-installed, which is the latest version of Android. Recalling that, the migration of the ICS from Gingerbread on Xperia S is expected by the end of the month. Wi-Fi, 3G and NFC, along with Bluetooth 3.0 comes in acro S against its predecessor which is having only Bluetooth 2.1.

The price and exact date of marketing Sony Xperia acros S is not been disclosed yet.

There is also another waterproof and dust proof phone launched by sony called Xperia go. It has a 3.5 inch screen with a resolution of 480 × 320 pixels. The selected camera on this phone is only 5 megapixels. One of the characteristics of the Sony Xperia go is the possibility of using the screen with wet fingers. Another of its specs have 8GB of internal memory, a battery of 1.265mAh, 512MB of RAM, and three different colors on its sleeve: white, black and yellow.
