Windows 8 is expected to launch by October or November but manufacturers have already furbish their products. Evidenced by a presentation that would have escaped from Dell, it is now revealed that an active "Latitude 10" Windows 8 Tablet is in preparation.
This tablet would be structured to begin around a 10.1-inch HD screen. With dimensions of 274 x 177 x 10.5 mm 710 g, the "Dell Latitude 10" would be bulkier and heavier than most Android tablets of the same class, but it would display in return the 1366 x 768 pixels for maximize environments of Metro, and in particular the multi-task with the Snap View.
It also would involve the Intel platform Clover Trail, designed specifically for Windows 8, in this case embodied by an Intel Atom SoC named Cloverview code. The fact sheet that has escaped from Dell said no more, but other leaks have already revealed other details. Dell is in any case focused on an Atom, rather than a Core ultra-low voltage, which is not a matter of autonomy, since both are almost on a par, but probably for cost reasons, to compete with ARM market shelves.
We should also find 2 GB of DDR2 RAM low powered, up to 128 GB of flash memory, a sensor at the back to 8 million pixels, a front 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and cellular (3G for example) as an option. The set is powered by a battery of 30 or 60 WHr, which have the advantage of being removable.
"Dell Latitude 10" - The Windows Tablet 8 will therefore adopt specifications that comply with the recommendations of Intel and similar or even identical to those shelves that are also in preparations from HP or Samsung. No price range is yet known.
