Archos Arnova 8b G2 tablet Introduced

Archos, known for aggressive price positioning for its range G9, a subsidiary recently launched with low-cost, announced this weekend completing its G2 line of a new tablet: the "Arnova G2 8b".

The "Arnova 8b G2" is therefore limited to a data sheet worthy of last year entry, probably in return providing a cheap price. It revolves around a screen of SVGA with 8-inches and 4:3 ratio, which has the distinction of being resistive or capacitive touchscreen, the user's choice, multipoint (2 points) in both cases, it can operate with the stylus unlike the first.

It also sports a front webcam and has a ARM Cortex-A8 SoC clocked at 1 GHz, which would ensure the GPU video decode for Full HD 1080p, 512 MB RAM and 4 or 8 GB of internal memory, expandable via a microSDHC slot. In terms of connectivity, if not HDMI or Bluetooth, it offers Wi-Fi G (but not N) and compatibility with the 3G modem which can be removable as well. Last but not least, the "G2 Arnova 8b 'embeds Gingerbread Android 2.3 version which was not designed for tablet. It offers an original multimedia support, decoding natively MKV, OGG or FLAC particular.

The price and launch date of "Arnova 8b G2" are not yet known, but it is already registered on the website of the manufacturer and should reach the shelves soon.

Re: Archos Arnova 8b G2 tablet Introduced

It has the perfect size to read e-books and surf the web and it's great to watch your Full HD video of how they are meant to be seen. As long as the OS is Android 2.3, but with time it will be possible to upgrade to Android 4.0. Despite the lack of physical buttons, the tablet with its 510 grams turned out a bit heavier than its previous series of tablets.
