Crytek released closed beta of its social network, GFace
The video game developer Crytek has released the closed beta of its social network, called GFace. Turned to the sharing of multiplayer gaming and streaming, GFace is intended to bring together players in real time, in a multi-platform experience.
We still know little about the operation of GFace, which has just been launched in a closed beta version, relatively limited. Nevertheless, according to Cevat Yerli, who is the head of this new social network, "Gface, allows its users to discover and experience entertainment all in real time. We want everyone to play anywhere, for free."
The social platform should offer a selection of titles playable online, or streaming, like what OnLive offers overseas, or Playcast in Europe. To believe the presentation on the proposed site, most types of games are represented, ranging from casual 2D types or 3D games for hardcore gamers. However, no names of any game is dropped except Warface, the FPS free-to-play that Crytek released this year.
But if video games are the focus of GFace sharing system, the social network will not be limited to this: it will be possible to post links and other status as on other such sites, or arrange a meeting to share streaming video content simultaneously with friends.
Still rather mysterious about its intentions and its strategy, the social network for developers Crysis probably will be more revealed in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, it is possible to apply for access to closed beta.
