Today Acer, the third largest PC developer, has introduces its first nettop, Aspire EL1600. "Currently, the nettop occupies five percent of the total computing market and we strive to tap 20 percent of the total consumer desktop sales till July," said WS Mukund, Managing Director, Acer India.

The EL1600 e-Machine, a good small underpowered desktop with a common ATOM 230 (1.6GHz), 1GB of RAM, 160GB of HDD, 945GC Express Chipset, DVD Super Multi, as well as a motherboard which allows we to supplement a PCI Express a single giveaway container as well as Windows XP Home.
Harish Kumar Kohli, chief sales officer, Acer India, said: "India needs to go long way on the PC penetration rate, which figures among the lowest in the world. Sales of desktop PCs have seemingly hit roadblocks evidently slowing down to an extent. Nettops herald the arrival of a much-needed computing solution that appeals to the larger audience with an astute combination of pricing and specs."
