The first enterprise SOA-based ERP solution to be used at Mazagon Dock, the new system will provide managers with faster access to more -- and more accurate -- information from across the entire organization, enabling Mazagon to speed planning, improve quality, reduce costs, and lower lead-time for its shipbuilding projects.

"Teamwork and an integrated approach are key factors for the success of this implementation which, in turn, will result in Mazagon Dock building quality ships on time for the country," Vice Admiral (Ret'd.) "The commitment and hard work by the Satyam team to successfully implement this complex a system on schedule -- and in spite of recent distractions -- is especially commendable," he added.

At a ceremony held at Mazagon's shipyards in Mumbai to celebrate the project's success, Admiral Malhi commemorated the use of the new system by releasing the first production order. He was joined by representatives from Satyam, SAP, and Mazagon Dock, including senior officers and functional directors.

"Achieving system 'go-live' is a major accomplishment, and I applaud Satyam's success in rapidly assimilating the complex processes and procedures involved in the construction of a ship and mapping them to SAP functionalities," said Mr. G.A.R. Rao, Mazagon Dock's Director of Finance.
