Driver for Lexmark 5400

Using windows Vista 32bit since past two months. Yesterday I bought a new Lexmark 5400 printer. For installing the drivers I used the CD I received with printer but Vista says it cannot install the drivers properly.

Any idea what is wrong? How can I install the required drivers? Please help.

As Windows Vista is recently launched several manufacturers have yet not updated their drivers for Vista. Is there anything listed on the printer CD about Vista?

Meanwhile you should better download the drivers from Lexmark’s official website. Just visit this link, select your operating system and download the drivers.

I 'lost' the file; im32fax.DLL after a virus infected my PC. My printer just won't work and after reading some posts tried uninstaling the printer driver and re-installing. the install goes fine until it reaches 'installing fax' when it freezes! I've tried copying the im32fax.DLL file from an old laptop into the driver folder still nothing!
Is it the printer driver or my laptop registry thats having the problem?
Any help appreciated.
