Windows Media Player 11 - White screen displayed when playing video

Hi all. I have a new HP dv9300 laptop computer with Windows Vista Home
Premium installed. Whenever I start Windows Media Player 11 and try and play
a video, it only shows a white screen. I have no idea why this is happening
and have been searching the internet and have come up with nothing. I have
tried DivX and a wide variety of codecs (K-Lite, divX codec packs) and
nothing seems to be working. Even the Divx player displays the same white
screen. The movie plays, but there is no picture. HELP!!!

I just fixed it in the Nvidia control panel. Under video/tv settings,
adjust video color settings. There was a box checked for "Use the nvidia
control panel color settings, i unchecked it, hit "Apply" and the videos
all worked fine. I suppose you could adjust it once you got the hang of
it but i just unchecked it and moved on. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much. This fixed the problem. I looked everywhere for this
simple solution.
