Now i have upgraded my system to Windows Vista and put all those codes in HOST by now it is not working. Tried many times but yet the same result, users are able to sign in Yahoo. What is wrong? Is there anything like whether Yahoo changed their servers or they changed the way yahoo messenger sign ins. Somebody Please help me out.

    Many Thanks.

Re: Block Yahoo Messenger Through Hosts File

Hello Ian, this is what you need to add in the host file now. This works fine:
    127.0.0.1 msg.edit.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 messenger.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 http.pager.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 scs.msg.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 scsa.msg.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 scsb.msg.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 scsc.msg.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 msg.sc5.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 msg.yahoo.com

By the way, if you block it through HOST, even you also wont be able to use it right? So if you dont want to use it and want to block others from using it, then why did you install it? Why dont you simply uninstall it from your system?
