Right click on the speaker icon in the Notification Area of the Taskbar, select
Recording Devices, right click on the window and select both Show Disabled
Devices and Show Disconnected Devices, if your Microphone is disabled, enable it
and select it as Default. You can also go through the Configure and Properties
of the microphone to set it up.
Have you also gone to HP's web site and seen if there are updated Vista drivers,
or if you know the manufacturer of your audio adapter, have you gone to their
site for updated Vista drivers.
I just got a dv6000 that came with Vista, and the mic is driving me
nuts. It's settings are all set to quiet, but anytime I change them in the
controle pannel, they go back! I can't tell if this is a Vista problem, or
an HP problem, but it's driving me nuts trying to fix it.
If anyone can help...?
You probably need to update the audio drivers. By checking at the HP
support website for software & drivers, I see that new audio drivers for
the DV6000 came out in May 2007. I suspect that downloading and
installing them might solve your microphone problem.
ok fine. i have followed all the steps but still the mic is not working on messenger windows (msn, yahoo, etc...). please tell me how could i use mic on messengers...?????
Do you know for sure that the microphone works at all? Have you tried it on
another system?
If so, have you replicated those same settings onto your own system?
