Vista VPN basics

I am having some network issue on my system. First I was having windows xp. I am trying to configure windows vista here. The vpn settings which I was using for windows xp, I am using exactly same for windows vista also. But there is a bit problem here. When I try to run the settings I am able to establish a connection. It is not working. I am able to understand why. While all the settings here is entirely the same. Can anyone help me here to fix the issue. Thanks.

Vista is having a number of known issue due to vpn connectivity. It is essential that you must post the error specific code here. On that basis it will be more easier to help you out. There are some third party vpn utility available on the web which you can use to fix the problem. Through that if any security application is blocking or creating issue with the connectivity you can atleast troubleshoot the same. This would be more helpful I think.

I am here going to provide steps for vpn settings. Just check that once and it will be easier for you to fix the issue. For that first go in Control Panel and then click on Network & Internet. There click on Connect to Network. Follow the below steps now :

• Setup a connection or network
• Connect to a Workplace
• User my Internet Connection (VPN)
• Add : Internet Address and Destination Name. Click on Next.
• Enter the user name and password. Click on Create.
• Wait for the connection to finalize.

If everything goes well then again go back in Control Panel > Network and internet > Connect to Network and choose the VPN connection.
