    Re: Sidebar is gone

Thank you very much, this worked - once I typed atl.dll and NOT ati.dll.
Somewhere in Craig's instructions atl changed to ati.

    Thanks again, much appreciated.

This will show you how to get Windows Sidebar restarted for the 32 bit
and 64 bit versions of Vista.

    RE: Sidebar is gone

This has happened to every user of Vista I have spoke with. I have not been
able to "fix" the issue with any of the suggestions below. My occurrence was
simultaneous to the reboot following the Vista SP1 update. Google Desktop has
a sidebar that works in its place if you don't mind having Google all over
    your computer (annoying).

I've been running Vista since the day it was released and have upgraded to
SP1 and this has never happened to me. I don't think it's SP1 that did it.

I've been using Vista here daily since RTM in November of 2006. It has
    *never* happened to me.

I've never had any problems with the sidebar and I seriously doubt that
what "daric127" is true. In any event, check out the information provided by
the link below and see if it helps you.
