Sonic Encoders from XP MCE 2005. Can I remove Sonic Encoders in Vista

I a having system that came with Windows XP Media Center 2005. And later on I upgraded to Windows Vista MCE edition. Both the OS has sonic encoder in it. I want to remove the same. I just want to confirm before doing it. Can I remove it and will it cause any problem on my pc. I am looking for an appropriate option which can help me to wipe out it completely. Some of my application are not able to work with the same and giving out the problem. Can anyone help me here.

Yes you can remove the same. You can find that in Uninstall program and then you can simply get rid of the encoder. That will be simply very easy. You can download other encoders which is more reliable in terms of output. Encoder issue is more common and can be resolved by adding a third party. I was having a problem with removing it. Windows does not allow me to do the same. I did that in safe mode and it was removed.
