Error code: 800B0100 and 8009200D and 0x800106ba in Windows Vista

I recently upgraded one of my XP running desktop Windows Vista Ultimate. Installation went fine without any problem, even installed drivers, programs and Windows Updates. It worked fine for two days but today morning when i started the system i received an error message from Windows Defender saying:

"Application failed to initlalize 0x800106ba. A problem caused this program's service to stop. To start the service, restart your comptuer or search help and support for how to start a service manually."

Also when i try to run Windows Update, it gives me Error Code 800B0100 and Error 8009200D. Here are some more details about the error:
    Update for Windows Vista (KB929735)

    Installation status: Failed
    Error details: Code 800B0100
