where is chkdsk located in vista?

I need some help to locate chkdsk in Windows Vista. I am not able to find the same. I am facing some problem with one of my system partition. The G drive in my windows is not working. It is giving me NTFS error. Nor the partition is detected. I want to run chkdsk here but I a not aware about the process. I need some help to simply run that manually. What are the settings available by which I can simply enable chkdsk on boot.

You can run that with an simple command. For that just launch cmd and in that type the following - chkdsk/f/r and reboot your pc. Chkdsk runs automatically if there is any problem in your system hard drive. And there is non need to run that on boot. You can run that directly in cmd and then check back. I think that will be enough to fix the problem you are facing. To analyze issue with your hard drive you can simply get more information on the same.
