    Cannot wake screen after standby

After my Vista machine has been on standby, sometimes I cannot get a video
signal again. The computer is working fine, it's recording on media center
and everything. But the screen stays black. I've tried all sorts of tricks
with the keyboard (e.g., Windows-L, Enter, Escape, ...), but it doesn't work.
Only solution is to cut the power :-(

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Christian

You are using a LCD monitor in digital mode? Change to analog mode. I have
seen a few cards that will not output a digital signal when the computer
    tries to awake.

Have you tried connecting your mouse to the PS/2 port and then clicking the
    left mouse button?

I had that problem, to fix it I turned off my monitor then I turned it back
    on.

Thanks, but that's not an option. I have a 5m cable and it gets distorted
    when it's analog.

Thanks. My PC doesn't have a PS2 port, only USB. Sometimes I am successful in
waking it up by moving the mouse or clicking the keyboard, but other times
    not.

Re: Cannot wake screen after standby

Thanks. That doesn't do the trick for me. The problem is a missing video
signal from the graphics card, and the monitor can't do anything about.

    Hi Christian,

Did you resolve this? I am having the same problems with Vista Home Premium
on both digital and analog feeds.

    Alastair.
