On 1-3-12 an automatic update installed a Defender Update KB915597. I have not been able to run a program called Abacus Accounting since then. Sure the program opens, but the program is not associating clients and billing correctly. If I try to just view an account balance, it shows "Type Mismatch Error." I did a system restore to 12-30-11 and the program was working fine. Unfortunately, the Defender Update re-installed that night. I have since disabled the automatic updates, but I cant restore to a point that my program works. Now I'm stuck. This Defender Update seems to have only created problems with this one program. Everything else is working normally. This is my business billing program, so it is quite important! I have searched the interenet and the Microsoft web site and cant seem to find any solution.
