System volume disk corrupted whlie playing World of Warcraft

While playing WOW my system crashed suddenly. It is a laptop. The model is some Sony Vaio. The system restarted on its own. I tried to run startup repair but that did not worked. System restore also failed. After performing chkdsk I got a error on the screen saying that the type of file system is ntfs and it is locked. What does this means. The laptop was giving some weird nosies from sometime. I thought it was due to fan. I was not completely sure about that.

re: System volume disk corrupted whlie playing World of Warcraft

This is a hardware failure. The same happened to my desktop and later I found that the hard drive crashed. It was under warranty but I lost all my data. It is most annoying thing that happened to me. I am not able to locate the reason behind that. I hope you can kept some kind of backup with you. Or else all your data will be gone.
