    Bluetooth Peripheral device

I have a Compaq laptop that is running on Windows Vista. Whenever i right click on device manager's properties for "Other Services" and then "Bluetooth Peripheral Devices", I get the following driver error message that i am not able to solve:

"This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."

I always get a pop-up message saying that I have to install the drivers for the device and when i click to find it on the net, i am not able to resolve it and then i get a prompt to insert the CD with the drivers which I am not having with me. Is there anything else i can do. Thanks for any help.

Even I am facing the exact same problem or getting the same error code on my laptop. I have even downloaded drivers from the manufacturer's site but that didnt work either. I hope that this isnt a hardware issue, since this laptop is pretty old and I dont have warranty left on this laptop. Please help us out.

    Re: Bluetooth Peripheral device

Try the below fix that was given on the microsoft site for solving the error code 1 problem in your laptop and see if it helps:

    1. First of all remove and then reinstall the device driver.
    2. After that on your Windows Vista system, make sure that the "Windows Update" service is running, if not then follow the below method:
      • Click Start
      • type services in the Start Search box, and then select Services in the Programs list.
      • If you're prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or click Continue.
    3. Under Name, locate the Windows Update service. Verify that the Service status is set to Started. If it is not started, click Start, and then click OK.
    4. On the File menu, click Exit to close the Services window.
