Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family Upgrade

Recently, I checked that my pc installed updates because of automatic updates turned on. It was suppose to be an important update but soon after it was install it corrupted the graphics on my Dell Inspiron 530S which is running on Windows Vista. And because of this problem, my 21 inch monitor turned into 15 inches only. Even Microsoft Excel or Word were not displayed properly. I tried to restore the system to a previous state and it seems to have fixed the issue, but again the automatic update brought the same problem. So, I have disabled the automatic update for now because of the problem, but in any case, will there be any fix for same?

Unless microsoft releases a proper patch for this issue, then you will need to make sure that you dont have automatic updates to set up to update both option and mandatory updates because the driver updates are usually optional. Also I believe that updates are often out of date and therefore not compatible with your current computer specifications. You can get the driver updates from the manufacturer's website which is the best option. You can even try to setup automatic update to download only those updates which you want to install. You can also try to hide the updates if you want.
