WINDOWS Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 and Vista 64bit!!

I have Windows Vista installed on my computer. I recently bought a new Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 from microsoft and it is not working at all in this system. I have already tried to install the IntelliPoint software from the cd that is given in the package and restarted the pc. After that I connected the receiver and Vista is able to see the device as "Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2.10" but soon after that it again tries to find a driver for this device and then the installation fails. I have also installed all the latest windows updates but still this problem isnt getting solved. What should i do now?

Before buying the Windows Wireless Optical desktop 1000, did you check if it is compatible with Windows Vista? If so then go to this link and http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en...l-desktop-1000 and download the latest version of the driver and install it on your pc. If this still doesnt work then you will have to install Windows XP on your computer in order to get this Wireless Optical desktop 1000 working on your system.
