IntelliType, IntelliPoint software won't install or uninstall

I have recently upgraded from Windows XP to Vista on my computer and I realized after that I forgot to uninstall the Intellipoint and Intellitype software. Now when I go into Add/Remove programs and try to uninstall the same, then it gives me an error message "This version of IntelliPoint (or IntelliType) software preceded the release of the operating system you are running". I have tried to follow the microsoft kb articles that describe how to uninstall a software but that didnt work for me. I have even tried to install the latest version of IntelliPoint but as soon as I click on the exe file, I get an error message Setup cannot continue because eitherthere is insufficient free hard disk space or an unexpected error has occurred. Please free the necessary disk space, and run Setup again. For system requirements, refer to the product packaging." I have checked that there are spaces left on the hard drive, so can anyone tell me how do i get rid of this software?

You have to first download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility that can be found by searching on the net. After that go in Device Manager and then try to upgrade the mouse and keyboard devices to the generic Microsoft drivers in case if they are not having the this driver installed. Then you have to run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility which should be available in the Start menu. You need then choose all the references to IntelliPoint and Intellitype and then click on Remove. When it is done, then go to your program file folder in windows explorer and manually delete all the folders of the IntelliPoint and IntelliType. Restart the pc and then try to install the latest version of the IntelliPoint and IntelliType and it should be working now.
