Problems getting Xbox 360 controller working with vista

How to install Xbox Controller on Vista Ultimate. I downloaded the right drivers from Microsoft website, but still it is not detected. The setup when I run on the start gave a error and stopped. I tried the same number of time and it worked. So it looks there is no issue with the installation, but somehow Vista is not detecting the controller. In Device Manager I can still see a number of unknown devices.

You probably using the wrong driver. At the time of downloading driver did you checked that it is going to work with Vista or not. Until you do not use the right drivers, the controller will not work. Try to search for the right drivers on the official website and you will be able to locate proper drivers. I hope the controllers are detected as a kind of plug and play device.
