Virtual Printer Port for HP 970 deskjet USB connection

After adding Vista on my Dell computer I am not able to configure my printer. We have a shared printer on the network. I had installed the same on Windows XP system which happened easily. I followed the manual way of printer installation and downloaded drivers through Windows Update. But later on in Vista the printer is not at all detected. The issue lies with Virtual printer port I think. The one in Vista is not able to work with HP Printer.

Just do the same method of installation that you did in XP. The manual installation through Add Printer Wizard. Follow the screen instructions and locate the printer manufacturer with model. The driver can be pulled through Windows Update. And it is will offer you Vista compatible drivers. This is the only way to fix the same. Or the second option remains is to download official Vista drivers from HP site.
