    Vista laptop keyboard help!

I have a Toshiba Laptop with Windows Vista installed. I am currently writing this on a different laptop due to the issues my keyboard is causing me.

A few examples of what happens are:

When I press z it turns caps lock on, and if I press caps lock it types Z.

When I press m it puts the m at the beginning of the line.
(Example: mLately I have been frustrated especially 'cause of the letter)

The left shift button does not work. The right one does.

If I press the x button it appears like this: \x
If I press the \ button, the same thing happens.

If I press the ? button it appears like this: ?:
If I press the : button, the same thing happens.

In short the buttons that are messed up are: Caps lock, Z, m, left shift, x, \, ? and :.

So far this has become very annoying, and I don't think I can put up with it.

Is there something I can do to fix this. Or should I take it in to be fixed?

I think that you might have changed the keyboard language to some other than french, i remember i had faced the issue once where when i used to press "?" then it used to get turned in to "É" , i think that you are having similar case, so just press left alt & Shift and change the keyboard language to French you can also do the same by going in to Control Panel, Regional & Input Settings, most of the systems are sold out with English, French and Canadian Multilingual so just switch to french and see if the issue is getting solved or not.

Just wanted to know that have you tried using some other keyboard to check out if it is making any difference, you can also try out uninstalling the keyboard driver and then reinstalling it if you want then you can try out using the last known working configuration , just try out these things and then let me know if they are helping you out or not.
