USB keyboard not working on start up

I have got a Microsoft Usb keyboard with me which is now working properly when I start my personal computer. But when i restart the computer then the same keyboard used to work fine. I know that this is not a very big kind of an issue or such but it is really irritating to restart the computer every now and then to get this keyboard to work. Is there any fix for this? Thanks

Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in the usb port without rebooting the machine and checked if it is working again or giving the same problem? You can also try to uninstall it from the device manager and then restart the computer and upon the next boot, let it reinstall all by itself again. If that doesnt work then could you please tell us when exactly the keyboard stops to work, whether during the startup and before or after Windows bootup or till BIOS only? You can even try to uninstall the IntelliType driver that is used by the microsoft keyboard and then then install the latest version of the IntelliType driver and see if that helps.
