    Possibility of having all mutations in Prototype 2

    I have been playing Prototype 2 for couple of days now and I have upgraded my character with some mutations. I have also seen another friend playing Prototype 2 on his Xbox 360 and he too is on the same part of the game as I am. His character seemed more powerful than my character. We did some research for comparing our characters and the mutations and upgrades that we have used were quite different from each other. I haven’t completed the game or don’t know much about the combination of mutations that should be used to upgrade the character. But it seems that my friend has got the combination right. Can someone explain me how the mutations should be combined to give our character a good powerful ability? Also I wanted to ask that is it possible to have all the mutations for Heller or do we have to manage in limited number of mutations?

    The question you have asked about the number of mutations one can have, is it limited or all mutations can be purchased, then I’d answer that it depends on how you play this game. Suppose you just go on playing the missions and don’t explore the city or just play the minimal game, then you won’t find enough mutation points to upgrade your character with all the mutations. In this condition, you will need to upgrade your character with limited mutation points and thus manage the mutations you use properly. If you play the side missions, that is complete the Web of Intrigue or find collectibles like Blackboxes, Field and destroy Liars, then you will earn extra mutation points which will help you to unlock every mutation in the game.

    But let me tell you from my experience about Prototype 2, you don’t need to have any specific combinations of mutations to make your character powerful or make him efficient to fight. You can upgrade your character with any mutation a complete the game. It all depends on your style of your game. This game doesn’t focus much on character building like Skyrim or Fallout 3. The main purpose here is to fight and you can use any mutation to fight. Also the developers have arranged the mutations and their prices such that you will be purchasing maximum of them even if just playing the missions and avoiding the side activities.

    I am playing Prototype 2 and I have seen hat there are six types of mutations, Offensive, defensive, predator, power specialist, radnet and locomotive. You can try to upgrade your character on any of this mutation combination. It doesn’t really help n any way, but just to specialize you character in any one of them you can use the formation.
    In offensive mutations you can use the Darwinism mutation which on purchase increases the damage done by Heller to the military units by 10%. Another one is a Death From Above which increases the damage done by Heller using the Ariel attacks by 10%. Devastatingly Beautiful is another offensive mutation which increases the range of devastator attacks by 25%. Good Little Soldier provides 10% extra damage to the enemies when Heller uses a Military vehicles like war tanks. Heller's Angels adds 50% more damage to the Brawler Pack. Melee Expect add 10% more damage to the melee attacks done by Heller. Revenge Boost adds 10% more strength to the force used by Heller to throw the infected human around. Rocket Arm adds 10% more damage to enemy from a thrown object. Strike Force again adds 10% damage that can be done using melee attacks on all enemies. You can use combination of any of these mutations. There is no specific combination or restriction that one mutation cannot be used with another. All these mutations don’t even cost much that they will limit your resource only till purchase of these mutations.

    I fist preferred making Heller more defensive than offensive. The basic strength than power provided to Heller is more than enough at initial levels. Also the initial missions are easy, so there is not much need of offensive mutations. But in further levels, where the game gets hard and enemies become more hostile, it becomes hard to survive, defense is more needed than offense. So I prefer to upgrade Heller with defensive mutation rather than offensive ones.
    The first mutation hat comes under defensive fight style is ‘Bulletproof’. It is good mutation in starting missions. In initial missions, human enemies mostly use handguns or SMGs. This mutation can deflect the bullets shot out these small guns. When the bullet touches Heller’s body, it gets deflected in another direction and can hit anyone who comes in its way. Another defensive mutation that you will find in this game is ‘Hard Boiled’. This mutation will decrease the damage taken by Heller by 25%. You will also find ‘Healthy Appetite’ as an defensive mutation, it increases Heller’s health by 25%. ‘Impaler’ is another defensive mutation which increases the damage done by spikes from the shield by 25%. ‘Personal Space’ is another defensive mutation which will give warnings to Heller if any big attack like missiles or strong enemy is nearby. Heller can tan dodge the attack or hide from it. ‘Shields Up’ is another defensive mutation which doubles up the amount of time Heller holds the shield when under attack.

    If you want to increase the speed of Heller, then you can try using locomotion mutations. The best thing about these mutations is that they are less in number and does not cost much of the mutation points. So you can use them in combination of offensive and defensive mutations. The one best use of these mutations is that they save a lot of time when it comes to travel from one part of city to another. These mutations also help in escaping some fight if Heller is running low on health. You can try Cheetah; this mutation will increase the base speed of Heller by four times. Dashing add 25% more air time to the air dash move. Extra Dashing mutation allows Heller to use two Air dashes when in air. God Speed increases the running speed of Heller by more 50% than current one. So if you use Cheetah mutation and then God Speed, then Heller will run like a bullet train. Jet Propulsion is another locomotion which increases glide time of Heller by more 25%. Jumpy is another locomotion mutation that increases the height of vertical jump and distance of horizontal jump by 25%.

    The best combination of mutations that I found for Heller is the combination of Predator mutation and Radnet mutations. Predator mutations are related to the consumption of the target and filling of Biomass meter. Similarly, Radnet mutations are related to growth and increase in power of Heller.

    Under Predator mutations, you will find a mutation by name ‘The Big Bang’. This mutation adds 10% more damage to the explosion done by Biobomb. ‘Hungry Boy’ increases the amount of mass Heller gets from consuming a target. ‘Inconspicuous’ increases the chances of Heller’s infection getting detected when under disguise by 50%. ‘Mass-terful Strikes’ upgrades the melee attacks of Heller such that, a strike from melee attack will add a small amount of mass. ‘Protein Boost’ adds 25% health to Heller every time he consumes a target. ‘Speed Recovery’, this mutation decreases the time taken by powers like Devastator and Pack Leader by 25%. ‘Submission Specialist’ helps in increasing the speed of hijacking vehicles and detaching the guns from them by 75%.

    Under Radnet mutations, you can find ‘Fast Learner’ which gives 25% extra experience points on each kill. ‘Health Pack’ adds 25% more health to the Brawler Pack. ‘Ravenous’ using this mutation, one can consume an active target with 10% less reduction in health than the base health. ‘Security Blanket’ adds 1% health every second while in blocking mode. ‘Weightless’ this mutation helps Heller to glide at higher eight and also extends the Glide.
