Trine 2 freezing while playing online multiplayer

I am not able to figure out why I am getting so much lag while playing online multiplayer mode of Trine 2. Let me know if you have noticed the same issue which I have mentioned over here. any help to fix the matter of mine will be highly appreciate. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hard ware Configuration
Firewall or Security software installed
What type of internet connection do you using?
What router does you using?

In order to fix the matter of yours I am suggesting that you should log out from the steam and close it. Restart your computer and launch the Steam. Login on it and see whether the game is running or not.

I think you will require verify the integrity of the game cache. You have to use the following instruction to do the same.

• You have to load the Steam on the compute.
• From the Steam menu you have to go for Library section and right click on the game.
• You have to click on Properties and click on the Local Files tab.
• Now you have to click on the Verify the integrity of the game cache and see what results do you getting.

There are chances that the game might be interfered by the back ground process running on the computer. so what I am suggesting that you should clean boot the computer and see whether it is working.

Looking at the situation I am suggesting following solution which you can try.

• You should launch the game into multiplayer and you have to launch the Task Manager.
• Now go for Process tab and choose exe file of Steam.
• After that you have to set Priority and Set Low.

I am not sure whether below mentioned solution will work for you or not but you can do the same.
You should launch the Console on the computer and run the following command.

cl_maxpackets 100

after that you should restart the game and see whether the issue is persisting or not.

Do you have installed any Firewall or Security Software installed on the computer? if so than I am suggesting that you should disable it and see whether the lagging issue is persisting. In case it is not working than I am wondering that there is need of port forwarding on the router.

Well If none of the above solutions are not working than I am suggesting that you should reinstall the game on the computer.

If the above mentioned issue is being faced by number of users than I am suggesting that you should contact the developer of the game and file a bug report to them. The developer of the game will fix the bug issue from the code of the game and they will release the patch which you can apply to fix the issue of yours.
