AI revolt bug while take over half empire in Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter

I was a little surprised when I received an AI rebellion. Although I like the possibility of occurrence of the trigger that could be tapped. In my game I have Morringi a revolt, but had only begun basic research in AI technology (first round of 28), IMO after the investigation had barely begun jet IA should not be able to take more than half of my empire. Should not an event to wait at least for the first AI techniques to be fully discovered?

No. Like the biological weapons research accidents can happen on the first turn. Just take the first, presumably, unintelligent, stupid AI believe that their scientists proved a little too smart.

However, the basic security protocols really should stop that is a problem. Yes, turns out to be a little too smart and too hostile - but is in a central air unit with holes in a self-sufficient research base with a minimum of external communications (daily 2-bit - you're alive / you hit) which is located on a moon with no air in the outer edge of empire surrounded by warships wanting to explode if the bits are not correct. And no weapons, either. Difficult for AI to take over much of the empire, then. The same for pests. Sure, they could infect and kill everyone on the basis of research, but are not dating.

The installation was carry out an enrichment facility - that will, at nastiest, a quite minimal effect around (the way they designed the virus possibly would not have caused any release of radiation, in its place of being intended to wipe out the equipment utilized by the Iranians, but even if it had, no enrichment facilities has enabled lots of the actinides and as an actual plant, so that the radiation peril is less serious). Thus security protocols and security cannot be all that tight in comparison. The equal in the game would lose the growth of research because of an accident, in its place of a disaster like the AI rebellion or plague leaks. The real trick is if someone makes a similar sabotage work in a reactor, or something safe, like a nation's reserves ICBM.

Deliberate sabotage is very different to the lack of actual research. The latter would be more like engineering illness leaks. This, yes, it happened in the USSR, because they are careless and security cuts used to obtain weapons. Similarly, Iran has recently been perhaps a little cutting on safety and security of its nuclear program to get results, perceived (probably accurately) that provides more security than they lose in the business.

Current research is somewhat limited in the amount of security that may be offered. Biological weapons research, for example, would obviously be best to do in a place where biological weapons could not escape the attacks on the population, like the moon, rather than on Earth, but it is equally obvious that it is not possible at the present time the station construction biological warfare research on the Moon! But this is clearly not a problem for an interstellar civilization, so that once again they can take relatively aggressive procedures to protect its citizens without substantially affecting its research programs. Protocols for the current is slightly less capable things Sots people could do, if they tried.

AI aims to reproduce the food is broken down and the Empire has to send a ship with supplies for the repair, escape. The AI builds his own boat and escapes and spreads very slowly to some external relay or simply takes care of the ships of the fleet around the base fooling them into thinking the community from another boat. Nothing is foolproof.
