Dues Ex: Human Revolution, not able to initialize Direct3D with current setting

I downloaded Dues Ex: Human Revolution, and when I opened it through Steam for first time, I chose ‘Setup Deus Ex: Human Revolution’ so as to make sure that the resolution and graphics were set to my ideal settings. When setting box appeared then I didn’t changed any of them and just clicked ‘OK’ button. And after all these things, now, whenever I try to run ‘Play Deus Ex: Human Revolution’, I get two error message.
First “Deus Ex: Human Revolution Error”
and the second one I get “Failed to initialize Direct3D with current settings”.
I really don’t know anything about these error messages and how to solve this issue. I hope you will be able to provide me with answer.

Re: Dues Ex: Human Revolution, not able to initialize Direct3D with current setting

There is no problem with your specs. It is enough for playing Dues Ex: Human Revolution game and even for almost all game. Therefore the reason behind this problem may be the drivers.
If you didn’t tried updating driver till now, then you should update it now. The latest version that you can find is 11.8. If that also doesn’t works then also try to reduce settings down.

Thanks for your solution. It worked for me. I checked the drivers using “ATI Radeon Catalyst Control Center”, it redirected me to their official site and there I found the latest drivers and then I downloaded and updated the drivers. And now I am not getting any error. The problem is fixed.

As you are saying that you have updated your graphic card driver so maybe there is issue with your graphic card. check this with the other graphic card if you are having. maybe sometime if your graphic card is outdated at that moment this kind of error arrives. I hope this will help me.

Re: Dues Ex: Human Revolution, not able to initialize Direct3D with current setting

    Goodday everyone,

    I have the same problem:
Failed to initialize Direct3D with current settings.

I'm using Virtu technology on z68 so my xfx 6990 isn't always on.
I have add deus ex on Virtu and in the bios I used I-mode instead of D-mode to save watt.

When I use D-mode the game started. But with I-mode it doesn't.

I have the latest software on my 6990 and virtu.

    Kind regards,

    Specs:
    Windows 7 Servicepack 1 64bit
    8gb DDR G-Skill
    xfx6990 4GB
    I7 2600K
    Z68 gd80
