Veteran units in Age of Empires Online

Is it only me or some of you also noticed that almost standard feature of most of the RTS games is still missing in AoEO. That feature is veteran units - It would be really nice if your units get experience in RTS battle which would improve their abilities by tiny bit. It doesn’t have to be complicated maybe 2 points promotion would do. After earning first point the defense would go up by few % and at the second point attack would go up by % as well. Now wouldn't that be a nice feature to have?

Indeed unit experience is something I really got used to from C&C. It’s a small thing to have, but a big thing for gameplay and strategy, plus it adds a lot of reality feeling to the game as battle hardened units always been more capable and experienced than new recruits.

Its gear, Star Tech and Advisors, that adds those things. Gear changes abilities, Star Tech can heal units/increase their stats and Advisors have all kinds of things for units and other stuff. For examples: Some gear increases snare: making enemy slower allowing for more attacks and a quicker death. Some increase defense stats. Some increase range etc.

They already have what you have said to an extent, however: For the best gear, and the use of Star Tech and Advisor, you have to be premium with that Civ. That’s the only drawback, gear you can use still helps your units and some non star techs do help (unit upgrades, which really are promotions and increase everything you stated)
