Want to play L4D2/TF2 with a Xbox360 or PS3 controller on 2010 macbook pro

I have a confusion or you can say a query here. I want to play Life 4 dead2 or Team Fortress2 on my 2010 macbook pro. So I want to ask here that is there is any way to play Life 4 dead 2 or Team fortress 2 on my 2010 macbook pro with a Xbox360 or PS3 controller. I don’t know any idea to do this. If any one has any tips to do this please reply me. I need any tutorial so that I can do this so please provide me if you have any. Thanks in advance.

I can help you a bit. I think you like L4d2 and Tf2. I will suggest you to buy the "Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows" if you have a wireless controller to make it work. Or if you have a wired controller then you don’t have to buy Wireless Gaming receiver. You can just plug it into the USB. Play and charge kit won’t work to make it a wired controller. That was the thing that I can suggest you to do. I think it is enough.

Here I want to add something as I know. As far as I know nowadays you no longer require any particular drivers for the PS3 controllers. You can do this. First make sure PS3 is turned off then connect PS3 pad to your Mac using the USB cable. Now in System preferences click on Bluetooth and make sure there that Bluetooth is turned on and Discoverable. Now hold down the PS button for 3 seconds then unplug PS3 cable from PS3 Pad. Then you will get a message that PS3 is now connected. Then the pad should work in all gamepad compatible games without any drivers.

Thanks for both the replies. Actually I tried the steps as you said. I did exactly what you said and I got the message also that PS3 is now connected. But when I tried to play Team fortress then the gamepad wouldn’t work at all. But I haven’t tried in portal 2. But I don’t think that it would work buy doing that also. Now what do you think that I should do. Thanks for the previous reply. Waiting for the next.

I think you are just wasting your time by trying to play Team fortress 2 on Mac with a gamepad. Because, as far as I know, Team fortress 2 doesn’t work at all on Mac with a gamepad. Therefore, I was trying to download so that I could play TF2 but unfortunately, whenever I leave the computer, download just goes slow and keeps pausing. If you want you can play Life 4 dead 1 or 2 on the Mac with the gamepad, it will work on them.
