Hey dude, I think that there is some hard-ware problem with it so I hence suggest you to first see if the all the graphics cards are working properly. I also request you to post all you system configuration with the names of the components on the thread, so that other gamers or users can reply to your answer. So please post back with the system configuration especially your graphic card.

Re: Resolution capped at 1280x1024 with crossfire enabled in red river

Hii friends, I am extremely sorry to not have posted the required detail, well ,I have two AMD Radeon HD 6970 in my crossfire. Whenever I attempt to play the game my resolution is restricted to 1280x1024 until and unless I stop crossfire. The movement I disable my crossfire I can use my desired resolution which is 1950*1024 is there any solution to this difficulty? I as well had the same problem with Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. I always hate to disable my crossfire every-time I use this game.

I also had been having the same problem, so here is what I finally did and hence figured out a answer to eradicate the 1280x1024 resolution cap. This only take place if you’re Video Card has fewer than 270 MB or additional than 2 GB VRAM. The game is coded to bind your resolution if you have fewer than 270 MB of VRAM but there I think there is a bug in Dragon Rising and the unlatched version of Red River that become aware of VRAM quantity over 2 GB, as a negative value.

The solution provided by the above user works and in view of the fact that it is a negative value, it is not as much of than 270 so the game confines the max resolution you can set to 1280x1024. This explanation only works for the UN patched v1.0 Dragon Rising or the v1.03 Beta patch but , I think that won’t work for this version and hence don ‘t totally be dependent on this solution. I hope it help you to solve your problem.

I think I have a solution for your problem this won’t work on previous version , so what you have to basically do is download the file for the fix of v1.2. First launch in your install directory and then go to the following location C:\Program Files \name of the folder where the game is stored \name of the game stored somewhat like red river.exe. Next go to program files \data_win\ then generate a new folder and name it system ( I prefer it ) then go to the location that you have just created \data\system\ And then Open hardware_settings_restrictions.xml with the help of notepad or a XML editor or whatever you like stumble on the following line line <res mem="2370" max Width="1280" /> change it to read whatsoever the max width of your monitor's resolution is and at last save the file .
