No Hardware Sound in Dirt 3

Well I have installed Dirt 3 on the computer of mine. after playing the game for the couple of hours I have found that the there is an issue with the sound of the engine of this particular game. I am unable to figure out why I am unable to get the good sound in the game. is this a hardware issue or there is something wrong with the game itself.
