Whether anybody likes it or not, this game is intrinsically regarding killing the other team. It is about completing objectives yes, but completing objectives means killing the other team. Let's just imagine for a moment that our mission was to hack a mainframe. Let’s as well pretend that our complete team changed to Operatives and ran to the mainframe ignoring enemies to hack. How would that work out? Soldiers, Medics, Engineers, Operatives all play an essential part in the objective based gameplay model we see in Brink. However, the people who get kills take an extreme back seat to those who are standing in front of objectives holding their "use key". I am not downplaying the significance of the "use key" roles in completing objectives in any way, believe me; I just feel that their role is no more significant than say the Soldier/Medic/Engineer/Operative that is holding down the flanks or preventing the enemies from flooding in and killing that said person.
