Magicka: eight simple and effective magical elements

As a practitioner of the arcane, you are indeed privileged access to eight simple and effective magical elements: fire, lightning, cold, water, Arcanum, earth, life and buckler. If their effects are relatively obvious at first sight (fire burns, life treats, etc..), The whole point of the thing actually comes from their combination, since it is capable of charging up to five items different time (knowing that our speed will decrease with each new element invoked). The first mixtures executed by the player landed just seem simple enough (+ fire stone = fireball, water + cold = ice, etc..), But we quickly understood the depth of the system by testing everything and What to As our adventures. If you think all this does not yet deep enough, it is also imperative to choose a way to expel the magical elements stored, which may actually be released to a single target in an area effect around your character, via our trusty sword or our own noggin. A combo shield + fire started in an area effect give birth to a circle of fire while the same run directly on our hero we will provide temporary immunity to fire.

Wave a laser beam which freezes and shock, lay explosive mines who treat their victims, raise a barrier of ice volcanoes spitting ... Of possibilities that will lead to our first few hours alone playing in Magicka. The system created by Game Studios Arrowhead Stadium exceeds even the small lab of the mad scientist magic by offering a number of finesse, as opposed elements that can not be combined or otherwise with complementary effects. An enemy may well be wet frozen by the slightest shock of cold or receive additional damage in case of electrocution. A lava lake may also impassable quickly be transformed into a suitable route through the application of a good dose of water or ice and frozen magician will quickly get out of this mess in sacrifice literally by the fire.

Because the enemy's ranks will be soon joined by practitioners of the art of magic that our protagonist, we will do well to learn to juggle all these opportunities to get away in one piece, especially that a number of spells to unlock special will also add a few strings to our bow. Despite the undeniable genius of this game system, become fast enough Magicka monotonous solo, where you will all too often tempted to use again and again the few recipes "abused" gleaned over the fighting. It actually falls pretty well, since the game of Arrowhead Game Studios has been designed from the outset to be practiced at several (two to four).

Plug controllers, connect to the online game (when she wants to work well over five minutes without crashing) and you then take a walk quite rare these days thanks to an incredible magical synergy and a friendly fire mercilessly. Try to hit a big boss with our death ray not eradicate all of our group, put a healing spell zone savior, resurrection to miss a half-second, try to copy or supplement the revenue of our classmates and laugh when a misplaced spell sign the death warrant of all: so many reasons to never play the game to Arrowhead Game Studios solo. Add to that a game world filled with self-deprecating, goofy dialogue and excellent references and you have a potential sympathy more or less infinite.

Alas, a thousand times, alas, suffers from a flaw Magicka well known to gamers management / strategy PC: Made in finishing Paradox Interactive. If multiple patches already released for the game have already made the household, the set of Arrowhead Game Studios is still corrupted by a number of bugs can be very annoying (special mention for one of the sub- boss who decides to end sometimes join the final battle for no apparent reason). Worse, the online multiplayer game is still very unstable today, condemning much of the players to crash fatally after just a few minutes of play As the interest of Magicka is undeniably limited solo, remains only to experience play local multiplayer on the same PC ... provided they get to meet several in the same room.

Do you have friends? Do they have handles? If you answered yes to both questions, then there is really no reason not to invest in Magicka, which in ten euros, is undoubtedly one of the best titles released in the beginning of year. For others, the many technical problems still exist in multiplayer online compel you, alas, to practice this very nice game magician solo, which is clearly not the best way to experience the way of Arrowhead Game Studios. The good news is that developers are working hard to fix all the bugs off their game by increasing the patches recently and that the ingenious and surprisingly deep magic system title will occupy the same, thus spoil an arrival on the market that could have been done with great fanfare when a finish worthy of the name had been travel.
