How to get rid of Neighbor Requirements

I am aware there are privacy settings, but even still I don't want to add strangers to my account, and I know many others agree. It isn't safe and I personally have used these privacy settings to add a stranger and blocked them from everything and they still were able to access my photos. This may very well be fixed, but as a mother of young children, I'm not going to chance it. I know there are young people who play this game, 14, 15, etc. year-olds, whose parents will not allow them to add people they don't know. Those people also aren't allowed to charge money to buy Pet Cash This seems unfair that they will be unable to advance in this game.

I've heard of people's Facebook accounts being hacked after adding strangers. Or their walls being spammed with "Join this group and get a SUPER RARE awesome item" groups. It just sounds like such a hassle for very little reward. Not worth it. I wouldn't complain if the coin cost for additional rooms became astronomical. For example, what if each room were twice the cost of the previous? 5th for 25,000, 6th for 50,000, 7th for 100,000 and so on. I just want to expand without adding strangers or putting down real cash.

I dislike the new neighbor requirements too. I had just started working toward saving up for the 6th room when they sprung this on us. Now, I probably won't ever get it. PetVille has less than a quarter of the monthly active users that FarmVille has. I've managed to scrape together 13 friends that use FV. How many use PetVille ZERO. And I'm not going to spam my friends with application requests just so I can expand my game. Certainly not 10.

I think it's fair that there are neighbour requirements for the new rooms. It encourages people to socialise within the game, and to have friends who play, and helps to grow the game. Those who don't have enough real friends playing, don't want to add strangers and/or don't feel comfortable with facebook's privacy settings should be required to plunk down a little cash to add them if they really want those rooms. I think that's a fair thing for Zynga to ask, since for whatever reason those people are not actively promoting the game and thus aren't contributing to the generation of revenue in other ways.

Well I respect your opinion and we'll have to agree to disagree. I personally have 19 neighbors and I feel that's social enough for me! If more friends want to play I'll add them, but I'm not going to recruit strangers I don't know and won't be talking to just to get a room. I'm not here to debate the issues, and I selected on my privacy settings not to allow the one group to see anything at all and they still could, so I just don't trust it. I too have heard of people getting hacked and let's face it - there are a lot of trolls and trouble makers out there.

I personally am not opposed to pet cash, (i've bought some already) but I feel there should be an option besides neighbor requirements and cash to be able to buy additional rooms. If you agree please post here. This thread is simply to make a suggestion and see who all agrees with it. It is NOT to debate the privacy settings or to tell people they should add strangers. I just want to post and see who else feels uncomfortable with this new requirement.

Re: How to get rid of Neighbor Requirements

At the very least, I think it was rude of Zynga to change the requirements for the 5th and 6th rooms. My FarmVille neighbors barely play FarmVille, so I doubt they'll be adding another game anytime soon! Of my 13 neighbors, only a handful still play. And it's kind of depressing to visit all those withered farms. I can't imagine it'd be any better visiting undecorated PetVille homes with hungry animals. Hey, I'm realistic. I know that Zynga wants money. I know Zynga wants more people playing their games. And I know Zynga will do anything to accomplish those means, even if it sours people like me. In the end, I don't matter to them. I'll keeping playing in my little five room house until I get bored and then I'll leave.
