Xbox 360 portable usb device help needed

If i connect my mp3 player with the usb device on xbox 360 then in media i cant select "portable device". But i want to play music on my xbox while playing games. how could i do that with an usb device. please give a tut

There are only certain game allow you to listen to music while play you Xbox. Some of those games are:

Project Gotham Racing
Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding
Splashdown

After you copy your songs from your CD to Xbox's HD you go into the sound options of the game you are playing. And if the game uses the SoundTrack feature of the xbox then it will let you select the soundtacks you created.
