ATI Radeon HD4870 512MB Crash issue on Asus P5Q3

I had just mounted a new computer. I had added a Asus P5Q3 Deluxe WiFi-AP, Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16 GHz / FSB 1333/Socket 775) and G-Skill DDR3-1333 2GB (2x1Go). Now after adding a graphic card ATI Radeon HD 4870 I had already faced some Blue Screen. I cannot imagine to now to go for eyefinity. Does anyone face a similar issue with it. If yes then what solution did you opted for.

For me, the ATT and 2D/3D profile editing seems to work for 1 hour of play without problem. I had only succeeded to make this work in overclocking for 5 minutes. The only drawback for this card I found is that I must activate the profiles manually to auto detect my 2D/3D directly back windows and closes San Andreas when I run it. Get a higher configuration quality for that.

I have almost nearly the same config as you put aside actarus 2GB DDR2 RAM. I had in my case opted for multiple solution. First I had flashed BIOS, updated my Catalyst Drivers and set my fan on higher option. Other than this I had updated by desktop-drivers, sound, etc. I install expertool to boost the speed of the fan here does not intend acceleration but just in case of overclocking.

THE HD4870 is a great product. The only advice is do not take other motherboard for that rather than ASUS or MSI like Gigabyte. Otherwise yes you can have problems with your card, now with my HD4870 and the latest drivers properly configured all I get him to cough up a 800 FPS on COD4. You must have to check hard configuration properly before adding the card.

I have got the same type of config but my HD4870 is a 512MB support. In my case the system freezes once after every 2 minutes of play and then works continuously fine for 3 hours. I checked my temperature during the game, everything is normal around 46 ° for the GPU. I am afraid this is also a problem of bios. So that means flashing of BIOS is the only solution for me. I am planing to upgrade my motherboard this time.

I had restored my old BIOS settings first. Then I had removed CCC ATT. I had set my profile on 2D which is at 1.086 volt. The temperature of the GPU also stays normal at 43 ° C and in 3D the voltage lies on 1.263. After that I had configured those on self overclocking in ATT. I had found that after this there was no freezing issue. I had set my PP disabled.

I was having the blue screen with my ATI 4870 and a very slow fps rate . I updated the graphics card drivers to 10-3_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu, at the ATI website. Now I have no problems at all, overclocked works fine.

As you see I have roughly the same config as you and same problem as you level graphics applications. I am right now playing Age of Conan. At the launch of Age of Conan I found that my gpu overheating, the pc freezes with black screen and message Signal loss screen. After a reboot things came back to normal. At last I found that my PSU is enough to run the GPU.
