Error code 52031 is due to, Wii could not obtain an IP address automatically. First go into the WZR2-G300N router settings. Please verify that the DHCP-enabled feature, When not enabled, please enable it. If you still get an error then you need to upgrade the WZR2-G300N firmware.

If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering:
    • From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model).
    • If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings).
    • If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

If you are using WEP or WPA security on your router, access your router by typing its IP address in the Internet browser and make sure your WEP or WPA key entered in the Wii matches the key on the wireless router. The WEP key can be used only characters 0-9 and AF. If the router allows more than one WEP key to be entered, make sure the key in slot # 1 is the active key. The Wii can only use the key in slot 1.

Wii error code 52031 could be due to may reasons, if you entered the correct key, then check whether MAC filtering is enabled in the "access control, access list, or network filtering" of the wireless router. If MAC filtering is enabled, you must enter the MAC address of the Wii in the "allowed" MAC address list.

Try manually setting up the internet connection. And Nintendo says the IP address has to be 10 digits higher than your computers. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run." Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.
