    Problems with Ghostbusters for PC

Recently Steam had a sale and Ghostbusters was on there for less than $7. Being a compulsive buyer I bought it. What I didn't know was that it was going to have so many things wrong with it.

PROBLEMS: The game lags. A LOT. The sound is TERRIBLE. It sounds like my speakers are possessed. Its still possible to hear their voices (barely) but it had this weird static thing going. Though it doesn't happen when I wear my headphones. After playing for a bit the game freezes and I hear the "problem noise". I have to close GB via Task Manager.

After doing some research I figured out I wasn't the only person having these problems. So I followed their advice. I set the Priority on Low in Windows Task Manager and tried to update everything including the drivers and DirectX. Setting it on Low makes it a little less laggy, but it still crashes.

I can run L4D and L4D2 almost perfectly, so why does this game lag? Any advice?

(BTW This is my first post and I'm not sure if I should be posting this here or somewhere else O_o)

Here is my computer info. I'm not terribly tech savvy :X

Since, you have brought the game recently, I suggest you to exchange it with the dealer. If it would have been a pirated version or a free download, at that time the case is different. But, since you have bought it from your own pocket, simply exchange the game. Why take the pressure of the problems that are not required when you can simply change it. Hopefully this is the best way to get rid of the problem.

There is an option in the ini setting file that should be set to 0. According to me you need to update your audio drivers with HP update. Open the ini file in vista the path is: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\GHOSTBUSTERS (tm), for xp C:\Documents and Settings\your account name\Local Settings\Application Data\GHOSTBUSTERS (tm). This could be a technical issue with the game itself where the the video lags too far behind the audio the audio will just cut out. If it runs on your video card I say good for you as most games just need 256mb as the absolute minimum to run. Now scroll through and find backbuffer option and set it to 0, do not know why this was implemented but it could explain the looping audio and stuff. Also for windowed mode. Open settings.ini and search for 'windowed' put an '1' behind and save. Hope it helps you.
