Assassin's Creed 2 freezes within 20 seconds

I have recently installed Assassin's Creed 2 on my desktop. I am using Windows Vista with 1 GB RAM memory. The problem is that the game freezes withing 20 seconds of playing. I had no problems while installing the game. But when I play the game it just freezes within 20 seconds and there is a black screen on my desktop. I have to got to the Task Manager to end the game process. Why is this happening?

I would suggest you to re-install the Assassin's Creed game again. Might be you did not saw any errors while installing the game, but still just to make sure that the game is properly installed I would suggest you to completely un-install the current instance of the game and then re-install it. I had this issue with Sims3 but the re-installation solved it for me.

Verify the following system requirements for Assassin's Creed 2 on computer:

Operating System: Windows XP / Windows Vista
Memory: 2GB RAM (3 GB recommended)
CPU: Dual Core processor/ AMD Athlon 64 X2 or higher.
Hard-Disk Space: 12gigs free space.
Graphic Card: Minimum 256MB.

I believe you would need to increase your system's RAM in order to play the game without any errors and all its features.

Check if your installation disk is damaged or not. There are chances that the installation disc of Assassin's Creed 2 had a bad sector in some area and was unable to provide the data on that sector which is why your game is freezing in between. You can verify this by installing the game with the same disc on some other computer to see if the same issue persists. Also verify that your disk drive is reading the disc properly.
