After Beijing and the satisfaction of having managed to adapt one of the most popular of the planet in video game, the developers address the Eurocom Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver in a few months. For the same success?
Vancouver 2010 is the story of a title that builds on the good experience from Beijing in 2008 without necessarily being a clone, with a little snow and temperatures more opposite. Indeed, rather than taking the easy way out and suggest a game recycles the same mechanisms, the team responsible for developing this title instead opted for a significantly different direction. If the public side is never questioned, it is the gameplay that stands out a bit of what Beijing. Proof of this is the disciplines that we have now been shown (Alpine skiing, ski jumping, bobsleigh and snowboard) have helped to advance a view to first person quite revolutionary. If it will be possible to play in the third person, the most realistic feeling hungry can switch camera to behind the eyes of the athlete!
This view particularly little used in games of this type is more in Vancouver in 2010. Indeed, the attraction of this title and this helps to strengthen the immersion. Small flakes of snow coming your vision are disturbing in that their small effect. We must admit that this feature is not a luxury as the rest of the title should be a classic of the genre. However, even in the traditional view, the game plays on the camera, much less rigid you can get used to. The goal is for developers to make it more realistic and taking all other simulations of snow sports. It is quite successful, especially as cladding and music are also credible and were chosen so as to transcribe perfectly the atmosphere of a TV broadcast of the event. Vancouver 2010 is in line with Beijing while proving without doubt a little more serious and realistic.
Most of the soft turn around the course online or in split screen. This second mode also bear up to four users on the same machine. But the most interesting range of online competition since countries will be organized, the history of communities to compete, the time ahead of tournaments already exciting. Few details have been given to us about these competitions but the possibilities of creation should be quite varied. In total, Vancouver 2010 14 disciplines which we discuss in more detail in the next test will be online shortly before the release of the game, during the month of January. Vancouver 2010 released in effect a few weeks before the start of the real Winter Olympics.
