Are they going to make new mortal kombat

So does anyone know if any new series of mortal kombat going to be made by Midway? Are they going to make new mortal kombat or not? As far as I have seen there is not a single mortal kombat series has been released or developed since the last 1 year or 2 year or so? I have been a very big fan of this game and in my childhood I used to play it on Sega, searching fatalities and combo list for it, which was really a exciting game experience for me.

As far as I have heard in news and whether it is rumor or not but there are some words out that there is going to be a new Mortal Kombat game this holiday season which would be around end of this year.

I have heard that Mortal Kombat 3 Filming is going to happen in this September year but about Mortal Kombat games I am unsure? Back in September of last year, director Christopher ‘mink’ Morrison told moviehole that they were still trying to find the money before going ahead with Mortal Kombat 3 (or whatever it will likely be titled).

I dont think that new mortal kombat games are going to be released and if they were going to release it then it would have been released at the time of the other systems releases. But for the movie I have heard that they had actors and they took picture of each pose. lol
