Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo Preview

After Dragon Ball Origins for Nintendo DS, Namco Bandai continues to explore the world of Son Goku in adventure games. This time it's the Wii that it sticks with a visual tape to playability retrogaming strangely!

For once, this new title Dragon Ball stamped on console does not show the Z saga but rather the early adventures of Goku namely the search for crystal balls. But if you remember, the battle of the Red Ribbon Army, the dragon that grants wishes and end with the fight against Piccolo. Great Plains to the castle of the Red Ribbon Army, snow-capped mountains to the cave under the sea, you can expect to see the country with small Goku. But more than the period of the Dragon Ball saga covered by this game is its gameplay, which really amazed us. Most of the game takes place in the form of an action game in the Double Dragon! You read ... It is a well beat them all old-school with its scenes of game depth of field bringing us to the time of the blockbuster arcade or Neo Geo.

Armed with his stick, the young Goku confronts a group of opponents in a game divided into chapters corresponding to the major events of this somewhat forgotten part of the Dragon Ball saga. From the famous meeting with the sexy Bulma, the training sessions initiated by Kamesennin through confrontation by Tao Pai Pai, everything is there. Wii forces, the game takes advantage of the duo Wiimote and Nunchuk controllers. A choice that is more than sensible when it comes to the phases of platforms. As for the two player mode, it gives way to the playability of a more traditional fighting game 2D. The action takes place in the famous arena tournament . Visually, the game meets the pixel universe mangaka Akira Toriyama. Obvious in the cinematic scenes that are inserted between phases of the game, beautiful graphics as illustrated in being respectable game characters sets, colors and details flatter the retina at all times.

Designed as a tribute to the work of Toriyama, the Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo looks like the best way to rediscover the beginning of this mythical story, or to catch up sticks in hand before diving in Z more current.

Re: Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo Preview

Revenge of King Piccolo is too simple for anyone but very young players. Are you a fan of Dragon Ball and want to introduce a child to the myths, this would be an easy place to start. If you're a fan of the classic beat 'em ups, which wants to introduce a child to the idea of walking and knocking things right, this will do. But if you're looking for a reward of Dragon Ball or Wii action game, look elsewhere. Even on the Wii, with its lack of fighting games, which has many more options if you want to fight a friend.
