One of my friend told me that resident evil 6 is going to launch soon? Is it true, then on what first platform resident evil 6 is going to release? What is the next storyline going to be? Does anyone know about it? Here, i am still waiting to get my hands on the pc version of resident evil 5 but it is still due to release on pc? Any comments

The next instalment in the Resident Evil series will be a full franchise reboot, Capcom's Resi dev team has said.

Speaking to US site 1UP, producer Jun Takeuchi said Resident Evil 5 is likely to be the last of its kind, which is sure to please reviewers who've complained of its glaring similarities to the previous game.

It has been rumoured that resident evil 6 could take 8 years from nowonwards to release.

According to RE5 producer Masachika Kawata, "We haven't decided whether we're going to make Resident Evil 6 yet... But if we do, it could take anywhere up to eight years, but hopefully only four."
It could take up to eight years, but hopefully only four?! To recap, Resident Evil came out in 1996, Resident Evil 2 in 1998, Resident Evil 3 in 1999, Resident Evil 4 in 2005 and Resident Evil 5 in 2009. And possibly RE6 in 2017?

So, the producer himself has stated that it will not release before 2017 year dated.

They can't afford to make RE6 another reskinned-RE4-sans-horror (which, for all the love I have for that game, is exactly what RE5 is).

I fully expect RE6 to scare my pants off again, so get crackin', Capcom.
